I have in mind that this forum may end up replacing the listservs.
The problem is that many email service providers seem to be very hostile to listserv traffic. They use some very stupid filters or pattern recognition or AI that equates listserv traffic to spam.
It will, of course, be very challenging to migrate our listserv activity to a forum setting. But a conceivable benefit, once everybody has suffered through the migration, is that we would have some of the benefits of a forum. This includes the ability to search for past threads and discussions, a function that was sadly inadequate in the erstwhile listserv environment.
The forum is intended to have a discussion area to match each of the individual legacy listservs. To say this another way, each listserv would be replaced or succeeded by a matching discussion area in the forum system.
It will be most helpful if we can get some volunteers to join me in the operation and moderation of this forum. Please send me an email privately if you would like to volunteer.
